Negara Brunei Darussalam means, "The Abode of Peace", is located in the north-west corner of the island of Borneo. Brunei is divided into 4 districts, Brunei-muara, Temburong, Tutong and Belait. The interior of country is a lush rainforest with a dense and intricate system of mangrove rivers in the north. The official language is Malay but English is widely spoken and both are used in business and commerce. The climate is equatorial with uniformly high temperatures, humidity and rainfall. Actually Brunei has 7 ethnics which are Dusun, Tutong, Murut, Kedayan, Brunei Melayu, Bisaya and Belait. Islam is the official and majority religion in Brunei Darussalam but there are other religion such as Buddhism and Christianity are peacefully practiced as well. The concept of the Malay Muslim Monarchy (MIB) forms the foundation of the social and political structure, and is practiced by His Majesty the Sultan and the Bruneian people. Brunei Darussalam is well known for its abundant oil and gas reserves, which fund the nation's economic development. Brunei is the third - largest oil producer in South East Asia, currently averaging 175,000 barrels per day.

Royal Regalia
It was established to commemorate in 1992, Silver Jubilee of His Majesty's accession to the throne. The hall was built on the site of the Winston Churchill Memorial Building which has been renamed, modernized and considerably extended. Pride of palace is given to royal coronation carriage surrounded by regalia from the royal crowning ceremony. The coronation scene at the Lapau in 1968 is depicted using models, pictures, words and exhibits including His Majesty's gold crown, Gold Hand, the Symbolic Golden Cats, his Silver Kris, costume and orchestral instrument during ceremony.

Tasek Merimbun
Tasek Merimbun is the biggest lake in Negara Brunei Darussalam. The S shaped lake is located 27km from Tutong Town and it is surrounded by the 7800 hectare Merimbun Heritage Park. Tasek Merimbun in dark color, a phenomenon generated by tannin coming from leaves falling into water. The lake supports a rich variety of fauna including birds, mammals and reptiles. There is a small island in the centre body of water that can be reached via a wooden walkway.
Tasek Lama
Tasek Lama is the one of oldest declared nature reserves in Bandar Seri Begawan. It is a pocket of rain forest which is just a 15 minute stroll from the Lapau. This Tasek Lama has excellent trail that leads to a natural waterfall and lake, 8 meter wall for wanna be climber. It has jogging and hiking track and had reflexology massage for leg. It also had hill climbing which at the hill, you can see the beautiful scenery of the whole Bandar Seri Begawan, the city of Brunei from up there. The Tasek Lama Recreational is in fact a water reservoir supplies water to nearby half of the state.
Brunei Museum
Brunei Museum is the largest museum in Brunei. It was located at Kota Batu about 5 km from Bandar Seri Begawan. The Brunei Museum was established in 1968 and completed in 1970. It was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of United Kingdom on 29th February, 1972. This museum has 5 galleries.

Air

Brunei is a bit of a bore on the entertainment front, mainly due to the out right ban an alcohol as well as the distinct lack of bars, pubs and clubs. The main emphasis is on shopping and dining.
Bars and Pubs
With a ban on alcohol there are few bars and pubs as such that are available to tourist. One exception is the Tagz Lounge at Sheraton Utama in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.
